Non-Consultant Hospital Doctor – Psychiatry Registrar

About the role

This full‑time, fixed‑term position is for a Non‑Consultant Hospital Doctor (Registrar level) working in adult inpatient and community psychiatry within an intellectual disability team. Based at Sandyford Industrial Estate, the role offers exposure to a top‑class clinical and academic environment with strong multidisciplinary support.

Key responsibilities

• Provide direct psychiatric assessment and treatment for adult patients in both inpatient and community settings.
• Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings, case reviews, and care planning.
• Contribute to the teaching programme for RCSI students and non‑consultant hospital doctors.
• Engage in clinical audit activities and quality improvement projects.
• Maintain accurate patient records in accordance with hospital policies.

Required profile

• Medical degree (MBBS/MD) and full registration with the Irish Medical Council.
• Eligibility to work in Ireland and meet immigration and language requirements.
• Previous experience in psychiatry is preferred; experience in the Irish health system is desirable.
• Commitment to ongoing professional development and teaching.

• Clinical competence in adult psychiatry.
