Operations Manager, City Ops

About the role

Sonder, a global hospitality brand offering design-forward apartments and boutique hotels, is looking for an Operations Manager for its City Ops role in Dublin. The manager owns day-to-day operations across the market and ensures guests receive the best possible experience, meeting brand standards of functionality and cleanliness.

Key responsibilities

• Work closely with the General Manager and/or Senior Operations Manager to build and improve operations
• Build and improve a team of operations and guest-facing staff, and manage a team of hourly hospitality staff, including coaching, training and career progression support
• Develop, refine and scale processes as the company grows to 1,000+ units
• Drive down costs and improve continuously
• Collaborate cross-functionally with headquarters to optimise strategies and tactics
• Build a culture of hospitality among the guest operations team
• Act as manager on duty outside normal business hours when required
• Develop relationships with housekeeping companies and other vendors

Required profile

• Minimum 5 years of professional experience in hospitality operations
• Minimum 3 years of management experience
• Past experience with early- or mid-stage startups
• Project management experience, either in industry or in hospitality consulting
• Ability to handle ambiguity without defined systems and processes
• Experience with RFPs, contract negotiation and managing external partners
• People skills and experience hiring, training and managing hourly employees
• Willingness to travel between properties daily and use a reliable smartphone and transport

Required skills

• Proficiency with Google applications
• Slack, Asana and project management software experience preferred
