Post Primary Teacher – Learning Support

About the role

The Waterford and Wexford Education and Training Board is seeking a qualified Post Primary Teacher to provide learning support at Kennedy College, Co. Wexford. The successful candidate will deliver curriculum instruction while ensuring that all learners receive appropriate support in line with the Teaching Council’s Code of Professional Conduct.

Key responsibilities

• Plan, deliver and assess curriculum content for post‑primary students.
• Identify and implement individualized learning support strategies for students with diverse needs.
• Collaborate with senior staff and other teachers to develop inclusive classroom practices.
• Maintain accurate records of student progress and communicate outcomes to parents and guardians.
• Participate in professional development and contribute to the school’s continuous improvement initiatives.

Required profile

• Qualified teacher with registration on the Teaching Council of Ireland.
• Experience or strong interest in supporting learners with additional educational needs.
• Commitment to upholding professional standards and ethical conduct.
• Effective communication and teamwork skills.

Required skills

• Knowledge of the Teaching Council’s Code of Professional Conduct.
• Ability to design and adapt learning materials for diverse learners.
• Proficiency in classroom management techniques.
