Process Automation Engineer – Dublin, Ireland

About the role

We are expanding our Life Sciences Engineering team in Dublin and are looking for a senior Process Automation Engineer to support major pharmaceutical and biopharmaceutical projects across Ireland and Europe. You will work closely with clients and multidisciplinary project teams to deliver high‑quality automation solutions.

Key responsibilities

• Develop functional requirements within an S88 framework and produce detailed design packages for automation contractors.
• Lead technical activities, mentor junior and intermediate engineers, and ensure designs meet project, industry, and regulatory standards.
• Attend client meetings and workshops to define and refine project scope, building strong relationships with clients, contractors, and internal teams.
• Support commissioning, FAT/SAT activities, and address technical queries during construction.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in an engineering discipline.
• Approximately 8 years of experience in Instrumentation & Controls engineering, preferably within the pharmaceutical sector.
• Proven track record delivering process automation projects in GxP environments.
• Strong understanding of process batch structures, equipment modules, unit phasing, and overall process flow paths.
• Excellent communication, coordination, and problem‑solving abilities, with the capacity to work independently and collaboratively.
