Production Planner – Plant Scheduling & Procurement

About the role

The Production Planner Scheduler is responsible for end‑to‑end plant production planning, raw‑material procurement and shipment scheduling. You will work across the supply chain, from sourcing raw materials to delivering finished goods, ensuring customers receive accurate forecasts and on‑time deliveries.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and maintain detailed production schedules for the plant.
• Coordinate with corporate purchasing and suppliers to align raw‑material orders with customer forecasts.
• Manage capacity, perform scenario planning and present solutions when constraints arise.
• Integrate sales forecasts, budgets and inventory data (raw, in‑process, finished goods).
• Create purchase orders, obtain bid variance approvals and support RFQ processes.
• Provide finance support for batch valuation based on raw‑material costs.
• Generate metrics and reports to monitor inventory health and drive improvements.
• Forecast raw‑material needs, manage on‑hand inventory and avoid obsolete stock.
• Lead or participate in cross‑functional teams for MRP implementation, new‑product introductions and continuous‑improvement initiatives.
• Ensure compliance with environmental, health, safety and quality standards.

Required profile

• Ability to work independently or within a team with minimal supervision.
• Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills.
• Experience in production planning, inventory management and raw‑material procurement.
• Familiarity with SAP and MRP systems.
• Effective communication with purchasing, finance, project managers and customers.
