Production Team Leader

About the role

Sanmina's FDA‑registered, ISO‑13485 certified facility in Fermoy, Ireland, is seeking a Production Team Leader to oversee 12‑hour shift operations. You will be responsible for ensuring product quality, meeting production targets, and fostering a safe, collaborative environment for the manufacturing team.

Key responsibilities

• Drive the team to achieve hourly and daily output targets while maintaining 100% productivity.
• Act as the guardian of quality, ensuring all products meet ISO‑13485 standards and addressing deviations immediately.
• Lead onboarding and the "buddy" system for new hires, providing training on work instructions and safety protocols.
• Manage attendance, conduct performance reviews (3/6/12 months), and handle employee relations proactively.
• Conduct high‑impact start‑up meetings to align the team on quality, safety, and production goals.
• Monitor and reduce scrap levels, enforcing strict adherence to work instructions and processes.
• Plan shift coverage, holiday scheduling, and ensure payroll accuracy for seamless production continuity.
• Collaborate with supervisors to align production plans with customer delivery requirements.

Required profile

• Proven experience leading production teams in a shift‑based manufacturing environment.
• Strong knowledge of ISO‑13485 requirements and medical device manufacturing standards.
• Ability to manage attendance, conduct regular performance reviews, and resolve employee relations issues.
• Excellent communication skills for conducting start‑up meetings and delivering clear instructions.
• Commitment to continuous improvement and safety culture.
