Pub Manager

About the role

P J O'Reilly's is looking for a Pub Manager to run its Irish pub. The role covers day-to-day operations, financial performance, guest experience and team leadership, working closely with the hotel's Food & Beverage management.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee daily pub operations across bar, floor and service, coordinating kitchen, bar and service teams
• Maintain cleanliness, ambiance and authenticity in line with Irish pub standards
• Manage inventory, stock rotation and ordering of beverages and supplies
• Drive revenue and profitability through cost control, upselling and budget monitoring, and develop themed nights, live entertainment and special events
• Deliver exceptional service, handle guest feedback and complaints, and maintain product quality and presentation
• Recruit, train and motivate staff, run briefings and manage performance, attendance and development
• Ensure compliance with health, safety, hygiene standards and licensing laws

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree or diploma in Hospitality Management or a related field preferred
• Minimum 3-5 years of experience in a similar role in an Irish pub or luxury bar, ideally in a hotel setting
• Strong knowledge of beverages (beers, whiskeys, cocktails) and Irish pub culture
• Proven leadership and people management skills, and excellent communication and guest relations abilities
• Willingness to work evenings, weekends and holidays
