Purchasing and Supply Chain Manager

About the role

Our client, a market‑leading industrial supply company in Dublin north, is seeking a Purchasing and Supply Chain Manager to lead purchasing strategies, ensure security of supply, optimise inventory, strengthen supplier partnerships and support growth.

Key responsibilities

• Lead, mentor and develop the Purchasing & Supply Chain team, fostering high performance and continuous improvement.
• Develop and implement purchasing and supply chain strategy to ensure continuity of supply, optimise supplier performance, inventory investment, working capital and customer service.
• Own demand planning and forecasting processes, driving improvement through historical demand analysis, market intelligence, order‑book management, sales forecasting and collaboration with Sales and stakeholders across Ireland and the UK.
• Lead implementation, optimisation and development of the AGR demand planning and inventory management system, ensuring adoption and maximising digital planning tools.
• Develop, lead and embed Sales & Operations Planning (S&OP) and Integrated Business Planning (IBP) processes, aligning demand, supply, procurement, operations and finance to improve forecast accuracy, inventory optimisation, capacity utilisation and customer service.

Required profile

• Minimum 5 years' experience in a senior Purchasing, Procurement or Supply Chain Management role within manufacturing, engineering or distribution.
• Demonstrable experience in strategic purchasing, supplier relationship management, inventory optimisation, demand planning and supply chain performance management.
• Strong understanding and practical experience of S&OP, demand forecasting, inventory management and working capital optimisation.
• Experience using ERP systems and advanced demand planning or inventory optimisation software (e.g., AGR), with involvement in implementing digital planning solutions (highly desirable).
