Registered Nurse – Dementia Care

About the role

We are seeking passionate Registered Nurses to join our team caring for residents with dementia in a residential care setting in Shankill, Dublin. The role involves delivering high‑quality nursing care in line with Irish legislation, professional standards and internal policies.

Key responsibilities

• Practice nursing according to the Professional Code of Practice, Nurses and Midwives Act 2011, Health Act 2007, National Quality Standards and internal policies.
• Handle safeguarding concerns and any allegations of abuse in accordance with the Safeguarding Vulnerable Adults Policy.
• Work within the nurse management structure and collaborate as an interdisciplinary team member.
• Provide person‑centred care, promoting dignity, privacy and confidentiality for residents and their families.
• Assist in other areas of the centre, such as the Day Care Unit, when required.
• Participate in regular performance reviews, set professional development objectives and support the development of colleagues.
• Maintain accurate documentation and adhere to relevant clinical standards.

Required profile

• Current registration with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Ireland (General or Psychiatric division).
• Minimum three years of nursing experience within the Irish healthcare system.
• Recent experience caring for elderly residents and people living with dementia.
• Comprehensive understanding of relevant clinical standards and legislation.
• Excellent verbal and written communication, organisational skills and flexibility.
• Post‑graduate diploma in gerontology or dementia (desirable).
