Relief Nurse – Daycare Centre (Dublin)

About the role

We are seeking a Relief Nurse to provide coverage during holidays, sick leave and professional development days for our sole nurse‑led daycare centre in Dublin. The role ensures continuity of high‑quality nursing care for day‑centre attendees.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver individualized nursing care using the Primary Nursing approach, including pre‑admission assessments.
• Plan, implement and evaluate nursing interventions, supervising staff and volunteers as required.
• Collaborate with the multidisciplinary team to achieve excellent care outcomes.
• Communicate effectively with families and carers to reduce anxiety and support positive outcomes.
• Manage the day‑centre waiting list, allocate places fairly and maintain occupancy.
• Oversee stock supplies, duty rosters and ensure appropriate skill mix.
• Induct and support new staff and volunteers, providing supervision and motivation.
• Lead change initiatives and uphold the centre’s volunteer ethos.

Required profile

• Qualified nurse registered with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Ireland.
• Experience in community or day‑care nursing, preferably with older adults.
• Ability to work independently and make clinical decisions.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.
