Scala Developer – Remote Talent Pool

About the role

Join Scalac's Talent Pool as a Scala Developer and be considered for upcoming remote projects across Europe. You will work with cutting‑edge functional programming technologies and collaborate with international teams.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and maintain Scala‑based services using Akka, Cats, and related libraries.
• Design and implement micro‑service architectures, DDD, Event Sourcing, and CQRS patterns.
• Work with various data stores such as SQL databases, MongoDB, Redis, Cassandra, and Elastic Search.
• Integrate messaging systems like Kafka and RabbitMQ.
• Participate in cloud deployments on AWS or GCP using Docker, Kubernetes, and Terraform.

Required profile

• Strong communication skills and fluent English.
• Proactive, growth‑mindset with a collaborative team spirit.
• Ability to work independently while keeping the team informed.

Required skills

• Minimum 2 years of Scala development experience.
• At least 3 years of general programming experience.
• Hands‑on with Akka (Actors, Streams, Http), Cats, Cats Effect, and SQL databases.
• Experience with Docker.
