Senior Alfresco Technical Consultant – Upgrade Specialist

About the role
We are looking for a senior Alfresco Technical Consultant to lead a complex upgrade of a mission‑critical Alfresco platform for a large enterprise. The project involves moving from Alfresco v7.4 to v26 across five environments, ensuring continuity of business processes and data integrity.
Key responsibilities
- Lead the end‑to‑end upgrade of Alfresco from v7.4 to v26 in multiple production and non‑production environments.
- Analyse the existing architecture, customisations, integrations and dependencies to define migration strategies.
- Develop detailed upgrade plans, identify technical risks, and propose remediation actions.
- Optimise repository configurations, content models, workflows and integrations for the new version.
- Collaborate with architects, infrastructure teams, developers and business stakeholders throughout the programme.
- Provide technical leadership, best‑practice guidance and documentation of designs and procedures.
- Support testing, performance tuning, validation and deployment activities.
- Troubleshoot complex issues that arise during migration and ensure successful cut‑over.
Required profile
- Extensive hands‑on experience with Alfresco Content Services (ACS) in large‑scale, highly customised environments.
- Proven track record delivering enterprise‑level Alfresco upgrade or migration projects.
- Deep understanding of Alfresco architecture, repository services, content models, workflows and integrations.
- Experience with performance optimisation and administration of Alfresco deployments.
- Background in supporting business‑critical systems with high volumes of content and transactional data.
- Ability to assess technical debt and recommend practical upgrade solutions.
