Senior Cybersecurity Engineer

About the role

We are looking for a Senior Cybersecurity Engineer to join our security team in Kerry. In this permanent, hybrid position you will design, build and optimise security controls across on‑premise systems, cloud platforms and infrastructure, helping the organisation detect, respond to and prevent threats.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop and fine‑tune detection use cases in SIEM and SOAR platforms.
• Translate threat intelligence into actionable detection logic and reduce false positives.
• Lead complex incident investigations, support response actions and drive post‑incident improvements.
• Configure and monitor security controls in Azure, AWS and GCP, ensuring compliance with security baselines.
• Collaborate with IT, cloud and DevOps teams to embed security into architecture, conduct threat‑modelling and review designs.
• Mentor SOC analysts and engineers, fostering skill development and best‑practice adoption.
• Maintain documentation, playbooks and runbooks, and champion automation of detection and response workflows.

Required profile

• Minimum 5 years of experience in cybersecurity engineering or security operations.
• Proven ability to work autonomously while collaborating across cross‑functional teams.
• Strong analytical mindset with a focus on continuous improvement of security posture.

Required skills

• Hands‑on experience with SIEM, SOAR and EDR solutions (e.g., Microsoft Sentinel, Palo Alto XSIAM, CrowdStrike, Splunk, Microsoft Defender).
• Cloud security expertise in Azure, AWS and GCP.
• Knowledge of threat intelligence integration and detection logic development.
• Incident response and vulnerability management capabilities.
• Familiarity with security frameworks such as NIST.
