  • Manage complex projects, resolving budget, resource and time issues; more experienced staff handle larger-scale initiatives.
  • Communicate effectively with the team, clients, stakeholders and the public to represent the business and deliver projects to its standards.
  • Line manage direct reports, covering resourcing, performance and HR needs, and provide technical guidance and mentorship.
  • Take part in CPD, lead training and support technical research, standards and tendering tasks.

Required profile

  • Degree in ecology, natural science or a related biological discipline; a postgraduate degree is advantageous but not essential.
  • Desirable membership of the Chartered Institute of Ecology and Environmental Management (CIEEM).
  • Breadth and depth of experience in ecological field surveying, data analysis and interpretation, and ecological impact assessment on large-scale projects.
  • Knowledge of relevant EU and Irish planning and environmental legislation, case law and the planning process.
  • Experience in leading and mentoring staff, and in project, budget and time management.
  • Full driving licence, access to a car and flexibility to travel and work across Ireland, including occasional overnight stays.

What we offer

  • Life assurance and access to an Employee Assistance Programme (EAP).
  • Paid professional memberships such as CIEEM, and internal and external training.
  • 25 days' holiday, regular performance and development reviews, and collaboration across the Origin Group.
  • Family-friendly policies, including enhanced family leave, and a flexible hybrid working model.
