Senior IT Manager – Financial Services Technology

About the role

G MASS is looking for an experienced Senior IT Manager to lead a portfolio of critical products and modules within a global financial services technology environment. The role will shape functional and regional direction, ensure governance standards, and align delivery frameworks with broader organisational objectives.

Key responsibilities

• Lead multiple development teams across business lines, locations, and technology platforms.
• Contribute to budgeting, project estimation and IT budget cycles.
• Deliver complex software projects on time, within budget and to scope while maintaining high quality.
• Manage P1/P2 incidents, driving rapid resolution and long‑term system stability.
• Ensure timely closure of audit and risk items in line with compliance requirements.
• Drive continuous improvement and cross‑functional process optimisation initiatives.
• Lead recruitment, onboarding and mentoring of development teams.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering or a related discipline (advanced degree desirable).
• Minimum 4 years of hands‑on software development experience.
• At least 4 years of experience managing software development teams.
• Proven ability to lead and manage large‑scale projects in investment management, hedge fund or financial services environments.
• Strong communication skills and ability to engage across all organisational levels.

Required skills

• AWS (preferred).
• Application server deployments (e.g., JBoss/WildFly).
• Messaging systems such as IBM MQ.
• CI/CD tooling for cloud and on‑premise environments.
• Knowledge of ITIL.
• Familiarity with SDLC methodologies (Agile, Waterfall, etc.).
