Senior Mechanical Design Engineer – Offsite Manufacturing

About the role

The Senior Mechanical Design Engineer will join the Modular Design Engineering Team in Dublin, leading the end‑to‑end mechanical design of factory‑built modular systems. You will work on modular data centres, packaged MEP plantrooms and skid‑mounted assemblies, ensuring they are ready for offsite manufacture, testing, certification and global deployment.

Key responsibilities

• Lead mechanical design of modular plantrooms, packaged MEP systems and modular data‑centre solutions.
• Develop chilled‑water, pumping and heat‑rejection systems for mission‑critical environments.
• Produce and review P&IDs, schematics, general arrangement drawings, technical specifications and operation descriptions.
• Apply Design for Manufacture and Assembly (DfMA) principles to optimise factory assembly, testing, transport and repeatability.
• Coordinate with manufacturing, quality, commissioning, suppliers, clients and certification bodies.
• Support technical submittals, design reviews and third‑party approvals.
• Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers.

Required profile

• Degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.
• 8+ years of experience in mechanical building services or industrial MEP design.
• Proven experience in offsite manufacturing and modular construction (core requirement).
• Experience delivering modular or packaged mechanical systems for data centres or other mission‑critical facilities.
• Strong expertise in chilled‑water systems, pumping and thermal management.
• Experience producing factory‑ready design documentation suitable for fabrication and testing.
• Chartered Engineer status or working toward chartership is desirable.
• Willingness to travel occasionally to manufacturing facilities or project sites.
