Senior PLC Engineer

About the role

Cognizant is seeking an experienced Senior PLC Engineer to join its automation team. The role involves designing, developing, and maintaining DCS, PLC, and SCADA systems in a GMP environment, with a hybrid work arrangement.

Key responsibilities

• Manage development and maintenance of DCS, PLC, and SCADA systems to industry standards (GAMP5).
• Design, develop, test, and troubleshoot automated systems on site promptly.
• Provide project support including coding, design, testing, and IOQ activities.
• Support on‑site Siemens S7 and Allen Bradley PLCs.
• Initiate, implement, and qualify proactive site changes and small projects.
• Coordinate tasks to ensure timely delivery and produce monthly reports of completed work.
• Participate in the on‑call support team.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in a relevant engineering field or equivalent experience.
• Minimum 5 years of automation experience in a GMP environment.
• Proven experience with Siemens S7 and Allen Bradley PLCs.
