Senior Server Administrator

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Senior Server Administrator to join a well‑known Dublin‑based client. The role is initially a six‑month contract with the possibility of extension, offering exposure to a busy, high‑profile IT environment.

Key responsibilities

• Install, configure, and troubleshoot Windows server environments.
• Monitor system performance and use network monitoring tools for issue resolution.
• Manage Active Directory, DNS, DHCP and related services.
• Perform patch testing, patch management and regular system backups.
• Control user accounts, permissions and access rights.
• Collaborate with IT support teams on escalated incidents.
• Participate in IT projects and maintain detailed system documentation.
• Identify and implement automation and optimisation opportunities.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, IT or related field (preferred) or equivalent experience.
• Proven experience as a System Administrator or similar role.
• Strong problem‑solving abilities and attention to detail.
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
• Hands‑on, initiative‑driven attitude.
