Senior Server Administrator

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Senior Server Administrator to join a busy Dublin‑based organisation. The role is initially a six‑month daily‑rate contract with the potential to extend, offering the chance to work with a well‑known brand in a fast‑paced environment.

Key responsibilities

• Install, configure, and troubleshoot Windows server environments.
• Monitor system performance and ensure reliable operation.
• Utilise network monitoring tools for issue detection and resolution.
• Manage Active Directory, DNS, DHCP and related services.
• Perform regular backups and verify data integrity.
• Administer user accounts, permissions and access controls.
• Collaborate with IT support teams on escalated incidents.
• Participate in IT projects and maintain detailed system documentation.
• Identify opportunities for system optimisation and automation.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, IT or related field (preferred) or equivalent experience.
• Proven experience as a Systems Administrator or Server Engineer.
• Strong knowledge of Windows operating systems and patch management.
• Familiarity with virtualization technologies such as VMware or Hyper‑V.
• Experience in network management and security.
• Excellent problem‑solving, communication and teamwork skills.
• Hands‑on attitude with the ability to work independently.
• Experience with DBA tasks and Azure certification is highly desirable.
