Senior Server Administrator

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Senior Server Administrator to join a well‑known Dublin‑based client on a contract basis. The role focuses on maintaining a stable, secure, and high‑performing server environment while supporting ongoing IT projects.

Key responsibilities

• Install, configure, and troubleshoot Windows server platforms.
• Manage patch testing, deployment, and overall patch management processes.
• Monitor system performance using network monitoring tools and ensure reliable operation.
• Administer Active Directory, DNS, DHCP and related core services.
• Perform regular backups, verify data integrity and manage recovery procedures.
• Control user accounts, permissions and access rights.
• Collaborate with IT support teams to resolve escalated incidents.
• Document system configurations, processes and procedures.
• Identify opportunities for automation and system optimisation.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, IT or related field (preferred) or equivalent experience.
• Proven experience as a Systems Administrator or Server Engineer at a senior level.
• Strong problem‑solving abilities and attention to detail.
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills in a fast‑paced environment.
