Senior Software Engineer - Data Services

About the role

Medtronic’s Patient Care Systems division is looking for a Senior Software Engineer to develop and maintain data services that support connected cardiac care. You will work on data pipelines, cloud infrastructure, and monitoring tools that enable clinicians to access real‑time device data.

Key responsibilities

• Complete assigned tasks within established deadlines.
• Design and deploy CI/CD pipelines.
• Design proactive monitoring and alerting solutions.
• Troubleshoot and resolve production issues.
• Mentor junior engineers and support their skill development.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or related field.
• Minimum 4 years of relevant experience (or advanced degree with 2 years).
• Experience in data architecture, schema development (JSON/Avro) and ERD‑based solutions.
• Proven work in agile environments (scrum or kanban).
• On‑call support experience.

Required skills

• AWS services (Glue, Athena, Lake Formation, Lambda).
• CI/CD tools, preferably GitHub Actions.
• Infrastructure as Code, ideally Terraform.
• Python programming (PySpark a plus).
• Open‑source data processing tools such as Apache Spark and Iceberg.
• Data schema formats: JSON, Avro.
