Software Development Engineer – Foundational Security Services

About the role

Amazon Web Services (AWS) is building next‑generation Foundational Access Management capabilities to protect both customer and corporate data. As a Software Development Engineer you will help design and implement a large‑scale Authentication Management System that underpins security for Amazon’s digital and physical resources.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop, and ship a next‑generation authentication management platform at Amazon scale.
• Collaborate with leadership to influence engineering and business decisions that shape the developer experience.
• Contribute across the full software development lifecycle – design, implementation, documentation, deployment, and operations.
• Participate in on‑call rotations, ensuring fault‑tolerant systems and rapid root‑cause resolution.

Required profile

• Strong fundamentals in object‑oriented design, algorithms, data structures, and advanced systems concepts.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Self‑driven, results‑oriented, and comfortable working closely with talented engineers.
• Willingness to take part in on‑call responsibilities.
