Software Engineer II – Virtual Card Management

About the role

Mastercard’s Virtual Card Management (VCM) team is seeking a Software Engineer II to help design, develop, and maintain commercial payment platforms. You will work on the end‑to‑end lifecycle of virtual and real card management, contributing to a fast‑paced, collaborative environment that serves issuers, corporates, fintechs, and travel intermediaries worldwide.

Key responsibilities

• Translate functional requirements into technical solutions for defined components of technology or product projects.
• Implement routine enhancements and minor modifications to improve system functionality, security, or performance.
• Troubleshoot and resolve routine issues by analyzing logs, reproducing problems, and applying documented fixes.
• Support system maintenance activities, including applying updates, patches, and configuration changes while adhering to change‑management processes.
• Provide technical input during project planning and reviews, highlighting design considerations, feasibility, and potential risks.
• Assist in documenting technical procedures, best practices, and standards to promote consistency across the team.
