Software Engineer III, Network Infrastructure

About the role
Google is looking for a Software Engineer III to work on network infrastructure and software‑defined networking projects. You will join a fast‑moving team that designs, builds, tests, and operates large‑scale distributed systems that power Google Cloud services.
Key responsibilities
- Design, develop, test, deploy, maintain and enhance software solutions for network infrastructure.
- Perform data analysis on production data to identify gaps, error patterns and improvement opportunities.
- Debug and root‑cause issues in a highly integrated ecosystem, including traffic engineering and admission control.
- Manage project priorities, deadlines and deliverables while ensuring incremental progress.
- Collaborate with team members and partner teams to understand broader context and solve the right problems at the right time.
Required profile
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience.
- At least 2 years of software development experience (or 1 year with an advanced degree).
- 2 years of coding experience, preferably in C++ or Go.
- 1 year of systems engineering experience (systems integration, testing, etc.).
- Experience with large‑scale distributed systems and network infrastructure/SDN.

- Annual salary €100,000 – €103,000.
