Staff Nurse – Community Residential Services (Relief)

About the role

Avista is seeking a qualified Staff Nurse to provide relief support within its community residential services in Limerick. The role involves delivering person‑centred nursing care to children and adults with intellectual disabilities, working closely with multidisciplinary teams and external health agencies.

Key responsibilities

• Provide nursing assessments, medication administration and health monitoring for service users.
• Collaborate with primary health networks, GPs, hospitals and allied professionals to coordinate care.
• Maintain accurate clinical records and ensure compliance with HIQI standards and the PCP framework.
• Support individuals in daily living activities, promoting choice and independence.
• Mentor and guide support staff in delivering high‑quality care.

Required profile

• Current registration with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Ireland (NMBI).
• Proven ability to work independently and manage a caseload.
• Strong organisational, leadership and communication skills.
• Valid full‑clean manual Irish driving licence and access to a vehicle.
• Fluent English proficiency.

Required skills

• Knowledge of HIQI standards and the PCP framework.
• Experience with behaviours of concern and complex care needs.
