Staff Nurse – Medicine for the Elderly

About the role

We are seeking a Staff Nurse to join the Medicine for the Elderly team on Ward 2C at Raigmore Hospital. The role involves providing high‑quality, person‑centred nursing care to 30 patients with complex medical needs, including delirium, dementia, Parkinson’s disease and palliative care requirements.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver compassionate, evidence‑based nursing care on a 12‑hour rotational shift pattern.
• Support patients with frailty, cognitive impairment and multiple long‑term conditions.
• Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to develop and implement care plans.
• Contribute to the care of patients with dementia, Parkinson’s disease and end‑of‑life needs.
• Engage in professional development opportunities guided by the Senior Charge Nurse.

Required profile

• Qualified nurse (or student expected to qualify by September 2026).
• Strong interest in caring for elderly patients with complex health issues.
• Enthusiastic, proactive and team‑focused with excellent communication skills.
• Commitment to delivering person‑centred care in a fast‑moving hospital environment.
