Staff Nurse – Operating Theatre

About the role

St. Joseph’s Hospital is seeking experienced Operating Theatre Nurses to join a dynamic multidisciplinary team. The role involves delivering high‑quality, patient‑centred care across pre‑operative, intra‑operative and post‑operative settings within the Theatre Department.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare clinical areas and perform safety checks for peri‑operative patients.
• Provide direct nursing care in theatres, minor procedure rooms, day theatres and related areas.
• Collaborate with surgeons, anaesthetists and other team members to plan and coordinate patient care.
• Maintain compliance with NMBI standards, hospital policies and national guidelines.
• Develop and maintain specialist knowledge in scrub, circulating, anaesthetic and recovery nursing.

Required profile

• Accountable for actions and fully aware of the Nursing and Midwifery Scope of Practice and Code of Professional Conduct.
• Familiar with Beaumont Hospital Standard Operating Procedures and policies.
• Commitment to patient safety and evidence‑based practice.
• Ability to work within a multidisciplinary team and communicate effectively.

What we offer

• Full‑time 37.5 hour week, Monday‑Friday.
• Salary on the Staff Nurse Scale (€38,166 – €56,592) in line with Government pay policy.
