Staff Nurse – Ophthalmology (Day Surgery & Outpatient)

About the role

The successful candidate will join the Ophthalmology Department to deliver high‑quality, patient‑centred nursing care across a range of services. Working Monday to Friday, the role involves rotating through the Day Surgery Unit, Outpatient Clinic, Injection Suite and Eye Emergency Department, with occasional Saturday shifts after training.

Key responsibilities

• Assess, plan, implement and evaluate clinical interventions in line with organisational policies and regulatory standards.
• Provide safe, compassionate care while supporting patients and families through education and advocacy.
• Collaborate closely with the multidisciplinary team to ensure coordinated, efficient service delivery.
• Promote best practice, maintain compliance with regulatory requirements and uphold the organisation’s values.
• Participate in the Eye Emergency Department and assist with day‑case surgeries and outpatient procedures.

Required profile

• Demonstrated ability to deliver patient‑focused nursing care in a hospital setting.
• Willingness to work across multiple ophthalmology areas, including surgery, clinics and emergency care.
• Commitment to continuous learning and adherence to clinical standards.
