Staff Nurse – Residential Care Home

About the role

St. Peters Nursing Home, part of the Trinity Care Group, is looking for a qualified Registered General Nurse to deliver compassionate, high‑quality care to elderly residents in County Louth.

Key responsibilities

• Support the smooth operation of the nursing home and promote a resident‑focused environment.
• Report any ill health and arrange GP or professional visits as needed.
• Develop, maintain and regularly review individualised Care Plans in line with An Bord Altranais guidelines.
• Assess new residents’ health and social needs and conduct ongoing reviews for all residents.
• Administer prescribed medication and document administration according to company policy.
• Provide clear handovers at each shift change and maintain accurate records.
• Participate in multidisciplinary meetings, communicate with relatives and ensure health‑and‑safety procedures are followed.

Required profile

• Effective communication skills at all levels.
• Genuine interest in working with elderly residents.
• Current registration with An Bord Altranais.
• Team‑player attitude and 1st‑level nursing qualification.
• Desirable experience in elderly care and knowledge of HIQA standards.
• Previous supervisory experience is an advantage.
