Staff Nurse – Support for Intellectual Disabilities & Autism

About the role

Horizons is seeking compassionate Staff Nurses to provide person‑centred care for children and adults with intellectual disabilities and/or autism in Cork. You will join a multidisciplinary team delivering high‑quality, evidence‑based nursing services in a supportive, progressive environment.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver clinical care and support to individuals with intellectual disabilities and autism.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary team members to develop and implement care plans.
• Provide night‑shift and weekend coverage as part of a 37.5‑hour rotating schedule.
• Maintain accurate patient records and ensure compliance with HSE standards.
• Promote the wellbeing and independence of service users and support their families.

Required profile

• Level 8 nursing degree and registration on the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Ireland.
• Legal right to work and reside in Ireland.
• Strong interpersonal and communication abilities.
• Flexibility to meet changing service needs.
• Experience with intellectual disabilities or autism is an advantage.
• Full clean driving licence (desirable).

Required skills

• Proficient IT skills.
