Systems Engineer

About the role

We are looking for a Systems Engineer to lead the operation and growth of the European Sovereign Cloud (ESC). You will work closely with global AWS teams, influence service evolution, and ensure a high‑availability experience for EU customers.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee day‑to‑day operations and expansion of the ESC.
• Collaborate with AWS teams to shape cloud services and technology.
• Drive continuous improvements in availability, reliability, latency, performance and efficiency.
• Participate in on‑call rotations to resolve incidents quickly.
• Deliver scalable, high‑availability services for European users.

Required profile

• Strong experience with Linux operating systems and network troubleshooting.
• Proficiency in Python, Perl, or another scripting language.
• Background in systems engineering or site reliability engineering at scale.
• Ability to create, revise and improve standard operational procedures.
• Fluent written and spoken English.
• EU citizenship and residence within the European Union.
