Systems Engineer

About the role

We are seeking a Systems Engineer to lead operations and expansion of the European Sovereign Cloud (ESC). You will work closely with global AWS teams to shape cloud services for EU customers.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee ongoing operations and expansion of the European Sovereign Cloud (ESC).
• Collaborate with global AWS teams and influence the evolution of AWS services and technology.
• Enhance day‑to‑day operations, driving continuous improvements in availability, reliability, latency, performance and efficiency.
• Participate in on‑call rotations to resolve incidents and ensure high‑availability for EU customers.
• Deliver scalable services and support the growth of cloud infrastructure across Europe.

Required profile

• Proven experience with Linux operating systems and network troubleshooting.
• Strong background in Python, Perl or another scripting language.
• Hands‑on experience in systems engineering or site reliability engineering at scale.
• Ability to create, revise and improve standard operational procedures (SOPs).
• Fluent written and spoken English.
• EU citizenship and residence within an EU member state.
