Team Lead, Mine Technology Services

About the role

Newmont is looking for an experienced Team Lead, Mine Technology Services (MTS), to lead the delivery of critical technology and communications services supporting safe, reliable and productive mining operations at its Lihir operation. Reporting to the Lead, Digital Lihir, the role covers operational technology systems, communications networks, radio and LTE infrastructure and fleet management systems, and leads a team focused on safety, accountability, customer service and continuous improvement.

Key responsibilities

• Lead, coach and develop a high-performing Mine Technology Services team.
• Ensure reliable delivery of mine technology and communications services across the site.
• Manage technology support, service delivery and performance.
• Build strong relationships with operational and business stakeholders.
• Manage vendors, contractors and external service providers.
• Support the planning and delivery of technology projects and upgrades.
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives to improve reliability and customer experience.
• Promote safe work practices and compliance with company standards.
• Contribute to business continuity, risk management and operational readiness activities.

Required profile

• Leadership experience in Mine Technology Services, Telecommunications, ICT Infrastructure, Technology Operations or a related technical environment.
• Experience leading technical or operational support teams, with strong stakeholder engagement, relationship management, vendor management, communication, coaching and problem-solving skills.
• Degree, Diploma or Trade Qualification in Information Technology, Telecommunications, Engineering or a related discipline; relevant industry certifications are highly regarded.
