Trainee Store Manager – Retail (Rathnew, Co. Wicklow)

About the role

This full‑time Trainee Manager position supports the store management team in Rathnew, Co. Wicklow. You will rotate through all store departments, gaining hands‑on experience while helping to drive sales, profitability and brand standards.

Key responsibilities

• Live Centra’s brand values – Proud, Energetic, Imaginative, Community‑Based.
• Set, monitor and achieve sales, gross profit, net margin, waste and other KPI targets alongside the Store Manager.
• Participate in training, development initiatives and performance assessments.
• Merchandise and present the store to the highest standard, following planograms and visual guidelines.
• Implement ordering, delivery, stock rotation and control procedures.
• Manage assigned departments and support new initiatives.

Required profile

• At least 1 year experience in the retail industry (desirable).
• Good knowledge of Microsoft Office, especially Excel and Word.
• Experience handling cash/tills and fresh‑food sections (desirable).
• Excellent communication, delegation and teamwork skills.
• Highly driven, strong work ethic, commercial awareness and passion for grocery retail.
• Ability to thrive in a fast‑paced environment.
