Trainee Manager

About the role

This is a full‑time Trainee Manager position in a busy grocery store. You will support the store management team, gain hands‑on experience across all departments and develop the skills needed to become a future store manager.

Key responsibilities

• Live the Centra brand values – Proud, Energetic, Imaginative and Community‑Based.
• Assist in setting, monitoring and achieving sales, profit and waste targets alongside the Store Manager.
• Participate in training programmes and performance assessments.
• Merchandise the store to planogram standards and maintain a high‑quality presentation.
• Handle ordering, deliveries, stock rotation and control procedures.
• Manage assigned departments and support day‑to‑day operations.
• Embrace new initiatives and adopt innovative ways of working.

Required profile

• At least one year of experience in retail (preferred but not mandatory).
• Strong communication and delegation abilities.
• Highly driven with a solid work ethic and commercial awareness.
• Passion for grocery retail and ability to thrive in a fast‑paced environment.

Required skills

• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Word.
