Training Specialist – Learning & Development

About the role

Irish Distillers, part of Pernod Ricard’s Gold Brand Unit, is looking for a Training Specialist to join the Midleton Distillery team. Reporting to the Health and Safety Manager, you will ensure that employees receive the training, skills and competencies needed to work safely and efficiently while supporting the site’s growth plans.

Key responsibilities

• Lead, coach and develop the internal training team to deliver high‑quality learning experiences.
• Design, develop and implement training and competency systems aligned with operational, safety, quality and environmental standards.
• Create and maintain competency frameworks for all site functions, supporting current operations and future expansion.
• Conduct training needs analyses with site leaders, subject‑matter experts and HR to identify learning priorities.
• Develop blended learning solutions using instructional design principles and adult‑learning methodology.
• Update training materials to reflect new processes, procedures and compliance requirements.
• Evaluate training effectiveness through feedback, assessments and key performance indicators.
• Partner with the HR Business Partner to align learning initiatives with broader development needs.

Required profile

• Proven experience leading a training function or team in an industrial environment.
• Strong ability to collaborate with cross‑functional stakeholders and subject‑matter experts.
• Excellent communication and coaching skills.
• Results‑oriented mindset with a focus on continuous improvement.
