Vice President, Engineering Lead

About the role

Reporting to the SVP, Head of Information Systems, you will lead end‑to‑end technology delivery for Hamilton Re’s underwriting, analytics and operational strategy. The role spans application platforms, data, integrations and vendor solutions, ensuring initiatives are pragmatic, reliable and aligned to business priorities.

Key responsibilities

• Provide technology leadership across core platforms supporting underwriting, pricing, analytics and operations.
• Own the delivery‑focused technology roadmap and ensure solutions are scalable, secure and supportable.
• Lead delivery and evolution of internal and third‑party platforms, overseeing data and analytics technology.
• Partner with PMO and portfolio leadership to ensure realistic delivery plans and manage technical risks.
• Oversee strategic vendor performance and ensure alignment with architectural and security standards.
• Lead and develop engineering leads and technical staff, fostering a delivery‑focused culture.

Required profile

• Extensive technology leadership experience, preferably in insurance or reinsurance.
• Proven ability to communicate technical trade‑offs to senior leadership.
• Experience operating in regulated environments with release management and change control.
• Strong vendor‑led delivery experience and ability to manage implementation risk.
