Accountant – Real Estate Lender

About the role

Onate, a fast‑growing real‑estate lender operating in Ireland and Spain, is seeking a second Accountant to join its finance team. You will work collaboratively with an existing accountant, handling a broad range of accounting tasks across multiple entities and jurisdictions.

Key responsibilities

• Month‑end close: prepare and review bank reconciliations, journals, accruals, pre‑payments and capex amortisation.
• Prepare and review income and funding schedules for the group’s lending and funding entities.
• Perform balance‑sheet reconciliations and month‑end accounting schedules across multiple group entities.
• Support management‑accounts preparation, including commentary and pack roll‑forward.
• Assist with loan accounting and cash‑management processes across funding structures.
• Provide inputs and review for SPV servicer reports.
• Contribute to the preparation of annual financial statements for group and subsidiary entities.
• Support the annual audit process.
• Assist with payroll, pension and tax compliance in Ireland, Spain and the UK.

Required profile

• Technically strong with the ability to work at pace across a broad remit.
• Willing to take genuine ownership of work and deliver high‑quality results.
• Understanding of financial services or lending is an advantage but not essential.
• Comfortable collaborating in a remote‑first, high‑performance culture.
