Advisor, RME Delegate

About the role

Newmont is seeking an experienced electrical professional to join its Asset Management team at the Lihir operation in Papua New Guinea. As an Advisor, RME Delegate you will provide electrical governance, compliance and assurance across the mine, ensuring all installations meet Newmont standards and statutory requirements.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct field critical control checks and verify isolation and risk controls.
• Lead electrical incident investigations.
• Review licences and authorise electrical workers.
• Audit competencies and compliance, and review notifications of energisation.
• Complete Certificates of Compliance and support Management of Change (MOC) assessments.
• Liaise across electrical departments to ensure work meets AS/NZS and site standards.

Required profile

• Certificate III in Electrotechnology (PNG, Australia or New Zealand).
• Proven experience in electrical safety, compliance and governance within a mining environment.
• Ability to conduct investigations, audits and provide technical authorisations.
• Strong knowledge of AS/NZS electrical standards.

• Electrical safety procedures and isolation verification.
• Incident investigation and root‑cause analysis.
• Licensing, authorisation and competency auditing.
• Preparation of Certificates of Compliance.
• Management of Change (MOC) assessment support.
