AI/ML Associate Engineer

About the role

The AI/ML Associate Engineer is a hands‑on software engineer who builds, integrates, and supports AI/ML solutions for enterprise applications. This position is ideal for early‑career engineers with strong coding skills who want to work at the intersection of software engineering, applied machine learning, and enterprise AI platforms such as Microsoft 365 Copilot.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop, test, and maintain production‑quality software that powers AI/ML features.
• Implement AI‑enabled capabilities using modern LLM techniques, APIs, and services, including Copilot‑enabled workflows in Teams, Outlook, Word, and Excel.
• Build and operate backend services, REST/gRPC APIs, and integrations that support AI/ML use cases.
• Develop Retrieval‑Augmented Generation pipelines, prompt management, evaluation harnesses, and safety mitigations.
• Participate in model lifecycle activities: experimentation, evaluation, deployment, monitoring, and iteration.
• Write unit, integration, and performance tests and produce documentation to ensure reliability and security.
• Collaborate with product managers, designers, and senior engineers to translate requirements into working solutions.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent practical experience.
• Strong programming background in Python and at least one of Java or C#.
• Solid understanding of software engineering fundamentals such as data structures, APIs, version control, testing, and CI/CD.
• Working knowledge of AI/ML concepts, LLMs, embeddings, and evaluation basics.
• Experience building APIs/services, containerization with Docker, and orchestration with Kubernetes.
• Exposure to MLOps practices (CI/CD, MLflow/Kubeflow, model registries, automated testing).
