About the role
The University College Dublin School of Agriculture & Food Science seeks an Assistant Professor to lead research and teaching in Agri-food Systems Data Science. This permanent position supports the university’s strategy to advance research, innovation, and sustainability in food systems.
Key responsibilities
- Develop and lead a cutting‑edge research agenda focused on AI, machine learning and MCDA applications in agri‑food systems.
- Teach undergraduate and postgraduate courses, supervise theses, and mentor students.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams across the university and external partners.
- Secure research funding and publish high‑impact results.
- Contribute to curriculum development and departmental service.
Required profile
- PhD in Data Science, Agricultural Sciences, Computer Science, or a closely related discipline.
- Strong track record in applying AI, machine learning and Multiple Criteria Decision Analysis to complex agri‑food datasets.
- Demonstrated ability to obtain research funding and publish in reputable journals.
- Excellent communication skills for teaching and interdisciplinary collaboration.
