Assistive Technology Trainer

About the role

We are seeking a passionate and innovative Assistive Technology Trainer to support employees with visual impairments in our social enterprise. You will deliver personalised training and coaching, helping individuals develop confidence and independence with assistive technologies in the workplace.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver individual and small‑group training on assistive technologies, adaptive software and accessibility features.
• Assess each employee’s technology needs and create tailored learning plans.
• Provide ongoing technical support, troubleshooting and workplace adaptations.
• Monitor progress, keep accurate training records and adjust approaches for optimal outcomes.
• Collaborate with the CanDo team and wider colleagues to improve training materials and promote inclusive employment practices.
• Report regularly to the Social Enterprise Manager and contribute to the development of training resources.

Required profile

• Experience delivering training, tutoring or coaching, preferably in technology or assistive‑technology settings.
• Strong knowledge of assistive technology, accessibility tools and software used by people with visual impairments.
• Excellent communication skills and a genuine commitment to accessibility and person‑centred practice.
• Lived experience of disability is strongly encouraged.
