Associate Legal Counsel - Privacy and Consumer Protection

About the role

Temu is looking for an Associate Legal Counsel focused on privacy and consumer protection to join its European legal team in Dublin. You will help ensure the platform meets the highest standards of data security, privacy, and consumer‑protection compliance across the EU.

Key responsibilities

• Support the management and maintenance of EU data‑privacy, security, and consumer‑protection compliance programmes.
• Assist with internal and external compliance assessments, identifying and remediating regulatory risks.
• Develop and maintain policies on data‑subject rights under GDPR, the Digital Services Act and related legislation.
• Draft and update privacy documents such as DPIAs, records of processing activities, legitimate‑interest assessments, data‑processing agreements, transfer impact assessments, breach notifications and subject‑access request procedures.
• Monitor upcoming regulatory changes and provide proactive guidance to the business.
• Provide occasional support to disputes and EU competition law functions and raise cross‑company awareness of relevant developments.
• Partner with engineering, product and operations teams to embed privacy standards into EU‑based products and services.

Required profile

• Legal qualification with experience in EU data‑privacy, security and consumer‑protection law.
• Demonstrated ability to conduct compliance assessments and manage regulatory risk.
• Strong research skills and ability to interpret evolving legislation such as GDPR and the Digital Services Act.
• Experience working with cross‑functional teams in a fast‑moving e‑commerce environment.
