Audit Accountant

About the role

Our client, a busy professional services practice in Killarney, is seeking an Audit Accountant to join their team. You will plan, execute and complete statutory audit assignments for a diverse portfolio of SME, owner‑managed and corporate clients while working closely with partners, managers and clients.

Key responsibilities

• Plan, execute and complete statutory audits in line with Irish Auditing Standards.
• Prepare audit files, working papers and high‑quality audit reports.
• Liaise directly with clients to obtain information, resolve queries and provide practical recommendations.
• Identify audit issues and suggest actionable solutions.
• Assist in the preparation and review of financial statements.
• Support and mentor junior team members where appropriate.
• Ensure compliance with ethical standards, regulatory requirements and internal procedures.
• Manage multiple assignments and meet tight deadlines in a fast‑paced environment.

Required profile

• Qualified accountant with ACA, ACCA or equivalent qualification.
• Minimum 2 years of audit experience within an accountancy practice in Ireland or the UK.
• Strong technical knowledge of audit and financial reporting standards.
• Experience auditing SME and owner‑managed businesses.
