Automation Engineer – New Product Introduction (NPI)

About the role
The Automation Engineer will join the New Product Introduction (NPI) team at a state‑of‑the‑art biotechnology manufacturing site in South Dublin. Reporting to the Automation Lead, you will work on highly automated production lines, delivering control system solutions for new biological drug processes.
Key responsibilities
- Collaborate with process SMEs, CQV leads and other automation engineers to capture process requirements.
- Develop and sign off functional design specifications and Automation Change Packs (ACP) for DeltaV systems.
- Implement code changes, support commissioning activities and ensure compliance with GMP regulations.
- Participate in internal project reviews and liaise with customers as required.
- Maintain detailed documentation throughout the automation lifecycle.
Required profile
- Degree in Electrical/Electronic, Chemical Engineering or a related discipline.
- Minimum 5 years of automation engineering experience in a regulated GMP biotechnology environment.
- Proven ability to work with cross‑functional teams and strong documentation skills.
- Familiarity with ISA‑95, ISA‑88, CFR Part 11 and EU Annex 11 standards.
