Automotive Technician – VW & Škoda Specialist

About the role

Orange Recruitment is seeking an experienced Automotive Technician to join a respected main dealership in Dublin. The role focuses on servicing and repairing Volkswagen Group vehicles, primarily VW and Škoda, within a busy workshop environment.

Key responsibilities

• Perform routine servicing, maintenance and mechanical repairs on VW and Škoda models.
• Diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical and electronic faults using manufacturer diagnostic equipment.
• Complete warranty and recall work in line with manufacturer guidelines.
• Conduct vehicle health checks and identify additional required work.
• Maintain high technical and safety standards on all jobs.
• Accurately complete job cards, repair documentation and workshop records.
• Collaborate with Service Advisors and workshop controllers to ensure smooth workflow and timely vehicle turnaround.
• Keep the workshop clean, organised and safe.
• Stay up‑to‑date with manufacturer training, technical bulletins and new vehicle technologies.

Required profile

• Fully qualified Motor Vehicle Technician certification.
• Previous experience with Volkswagen Group vehicles, ideally VW and/or Škoda.
• Strong diagnostic and fault‑finding ability.
• Experience using dealer management and diagnostic systems.
• HV (High Voltage) and diagnostic certification is a distinct advantage.
• Full, valid and current driver’s licence.
• Excellent attention to detail and ability to work to exacting standards.
• Positive, flexible and team‑focused attitude.
