Board Member – General Medicine Written Examinations

About the role
The Institute of Medicine, RCPI invites experienced General/Internal Medicine consultants to join the General Medicine Written Examination Board. As a board member you will help shape the written components of the General Medicine Membership exam, ensuring high standards and relevance for future physicians.
Key responsibilities
- Support the ongoing development and improvement of the General Medicine written examinations (Part I and Part II written).
- Attend board meetings in accordance with RCPI Rules and Procedures.
- Meet after each examination diet to review and sign off results.
- Prepare, review and validate examination papers.
- Oversee policy, regulatory and academic matters related to the examinations.
- Collaborate with fellow board members and relevant stakeholders.
- Ensure compliance with College Examination Regulations and adapt to regulatory changes.
Required profile
- Registered consultant in General/Internal Medicine practising in Ireland.
- Member or Fellow of the Royal College of Physicians of Ireland in good standing.
- Strong interest in leadership, governance and service development.
- Experience in clinical practice, teaching, research or quality improvement.
- Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
