Business Development Executive

About the role

The Business Development Executive will drive commercial growth for a utility infrastructure provider expanding across Ireland and the UK. The role focuses on building long‑term client partnerships in high‑growth sectors such as transmission & distribution, renewables, data centre infrastructure, EV & smart infrastructure, street lighting and telecoms.

Key responsibilities

• Identify, assess and develop new business opportunities across target sectors.
• Build and maintain a robust pipeline of tender opportunities, tracking pre‑qualification, frameworks and negotiated contracts.
• Establish senior‑level relationships with infrastructure developers, Tier 1 contractors, utilities, renewable energy firms and data‑centre operators.
• Lead bid strategies, coordinating with estimating, operations and HSQE teams to deliver commercially strong submissions.
• Develop and execute an annual business development strategy aligned with growth targets.
• Represent the company at industry events, conferences and client meetings.
• Monitor market trends, competitor activity and government investment programmes to uncover new opportunities.
• Support negotiations for framework agreements and preferred supplier arrangements.
• Provide monthly pipeline and performance reports to the CEO and Board.

Required profile

• Proven experience in business development or sales within utility, telecoms, renewable energy or related infrastructure sectors.
• Strong network of senior contacts in the target markets.
• Ability to manage complex bid processes and multi‑stakeholder projects.
• Excellent analytical and strategic thinking skills.
