Business Development Representative - Public Sector & .ORG

About the role

Salesforce is hiring Business Development Representatives for its Public Sector and .ORG (non-profit and education) verticals at its European headquarters in Dublin. The BDR team generates new business and whitespace pipeline through outbound prospecting, supporting outbound sales teams until deals close. The role sits in the Sales Development organisation, which supports sales teams with strategic prospecting and account research.

Key responsibilities

• Generate new business pipeline mainly through outbound prospecting of public sector and .org accounts
• Manage inbound leads generated by outbound activity
• Nurture early-stage opportunities in government, local authority, non-profit and education accounts
• Use outbound cold calling to gain interest and break into net-new logos in the assigned territory
• Partner with core sellers to source net-new pipeline by researching lines of business, personas and organisational structures
• Work with internal account teams and identify key decision-makers and budget holders, navigating public and non-profit procurement processes

Required profile

• Degree or equivalent relevant experience; experience will be judged against the core competencies of the role
• Fluency in English and an additional language, plus a valid working visa for Ireland
• Experience in business development, sales or a related field; a background in public sector, non-profit or education is a plus
• Track record of meeting sales metrics and year-over-year quota attainment
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment across many parts of the organisation

Required skills

• Account planning, prospecting and cold calling to large lists of new and existing accounts
• Researching accounts and identifying decision-makers
