Buyer – Business Unit (Automotive Seating)

About the role

Adient is seeking a Buyer for its Business Unit in Bratislava to support program purchasing activities across automotive seating projects. You will ensure smooth product launches, manage supplier relationships, and maintain financial control throughout the program lifecycle.

Key responsibilities

• Coordinate program purchasing activities for assigned customer business units.
• Control and approve all purchasing actions in line with program launch systems and customer demands.
• Maintain financial oversight of complex, modular programs from phase 0‑5 and throughout their lifetime.
• Drive cost, quality, and timely supply of goods, materials, equipment, and services.
• Initiate make‑or‑buy decisions, value analysis/engineering, and cost‑optimization projects.
• Manage supplier interactions including RFQs, contract negotiations, change management, and dispute resolution.

Required profile

• Commercial or technical degree.
• Minimum 2 years of purchasing experience in automotive production materials.
• Strong understanding of purchasing tools, practices, and cost analysis.
• Fluent English communication skills.
